Learning to Support Every Nudgee Man

At St Joseph's Nudgee College, learning is an important part of creating safe, positive and rewarding co-curricular experiences for every student.

All volunteers complete learning appropriate to their role before commencing. Additional learning may also be assigned throughout your time volunteering to reflect changes in legislation, College policies, College procedures or recognised best practice.

Our commitment to learning supports our child safeguarding culture and helps ensure volunteers have the knowledge and confidence to perform their role safely and effectively.

All mandatory volunteer learning is completed through the St Joseph's Nudgee College Community Learning Platform.

Getting Started

Select Access Community Learning Platform.
Create a new account using your email address (if you have not previously registered).
Confirm your registration via the verification email.
Log in to access your assigned learning.
Complete all mandatory learning before commencing your volunteer role.

While You Volunteer

As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, additional learning may be assigned throughout your volunteer journey.

This may occur:

annually;
before the commencement of a new season or program;
following changes to legislation;
when College policies or procedures are updated;
where your volunteer role changes; or
following significant incidents or emerging risks.

Before You Commence

Before commencing your volunteer role, your Director or Coordinator will confirm that:

✔ You have completed your mandatory volunteer learning for the current calendar year.

✔ Any role-specific learning has been completed (where applicable).

✔ Your onboarding requirements have been finalised.

✔ You have been approved to commence.

Volunteers must not commence their role until these requirements have been completed and approval has been provided by the College.

Annual Learning Requirements

Mandatory volunteer learning is completed once each calendar year.

To maintain a safe, compliant and well-informed volunteer community, all coaches and volunteers are required to complete the College's annual mandatory learning before commencing volunteer duties for that calendar year.

Depending on your role, additional role-specific learning or updates may also be assigned where required.

Frequently Asked Questions

I already volunteer at the College. Do I need to complete the learning again?

Yes. All coaches and volunteers are required to complete the College's mandatory volunteer learning once each calendar year, even if they have volunteered previously.

This ensures all volunteers:

remain up to date with legislative and regulatory requirements;
understand any changes to College policies, procedures or expectations;
maintain current knowledge of child safeguarding responsibilities; and
continue to support a safe and positive environment for students.

I can't access the Community Learning Platform.

Please contact your coordinator or the relevant College office for assistance.

When can I start volunteering?

You may only commence after:

your onboarding has been completed;
all mandatory learning has been successfully completed; and
you have been advised by the College that you are approved to commence.
